Belgian work horses

Tat and Tutshi are Belgian work horses. They just got their new work harness this year and have proudly worn it while learning how to drive in the round corral. This winter, they'll be pullling a sled to collect the oat bundles that will be used to feed them (and their friends the goats).

We have a couple of pieces of farm machinery that is old enough to have been designed for using with horses. Other pieces will be adapted to work with a fore cart. The fore cart can be equipped with a small motor to run those implements that need a PTO.

The dump rake is picturesque covered in snow, but is also a working tool. It has both a tractor drawbar and a shaft so it can be horse drawn.

The rake is used across the swaths to turn the swaths over or to join more than one swath together. A lever on the side lifts the tines so the swath can be "dumped".
